Rough Iron Bean Style Thumbturn

Solid cast iron thumb turn with oval bean style back plate for use with privacy mortise locks. The bean shaped backplate measures 2 7/16" tall by 1 11/16" wide and 1/8" in thickness. The spindle measures 3/16" by 1 3/8" and is oriented on the diamond. This thumb turn has a textured matte black finish.

Also called a turnkey, is usually an oval or crescent shaped knob which is turned to operate the dead bolt of a privacy or entry mortise lock and may be connected to a door plate or a separate part.
