Privacy Mortise Lock - 2 1/4" Backset in Antique Copper

This standard mortise lock features solid-brass face and strike plates in an antique copper finish. It comes equipped for a privacy thumb turn, and is reversible for left- or right-hand doors. It is suited for almost any decor wherever mortise locks are required.

When using this as a replacement lock, it is important to measure existing cutouts on your door, including the backset, face plate, and mortise pocket. Some modification of your cutouts may be required.

Dimensions. Faceplate: 6" T x 7/8" W. Strike Plate: 5 1/8" T x 1" W. Lock Box: 4" T x 9/16" W x 3" D. The distance from the center of the knob hub to the center of the thumb turn hub is a standard 2 1/4". The backset is 2 1/4".
This lock only works with 5/16" or 8mm thick door knob spindles.

Backset:On a lock or latch this is the distance from the front of the face plate to the center of the door knob hub.
