A New “Old” Farmhouse in Ohio
Stacey of @greenvalleygable is a self-proclaimed “old-soul.” When designing this farmhouse style home for her young family of four, she married timeless country charm and modern functionality. With its open, vaulted interior, shiplap walls, and classic hardware accents, this special home is a unique mix of old and new.
Set amid rolling fields, the gleaming white house features board-and-batten siding and a welcoming front porch. Enormous double hung windows flood every room with light and offer views of the surrounding countryside. The bright and breezy interior is outfitted throughout with furniture-style maple cabinetry painted a soft white. For hardware, Stacy choose classic stamped brass cup pulls and matchbox latches in oil-rubbed bronze to reinforce the simple, farmhouse look.
In the kitchen clear glass pendants over the island are a fresh and modern compliment to the traditional cabinetry and hardware. In the master bathroom pulls and accents in satin nickel create a more elegant impression, perfectly suited to this spa-like retreat.
For doors throughout the house, Stacy choose simple but timeless New York style door sets in oil-rubbed bronze. The plain beveled plates are paired with smooth round knobs in some rooms and sparkling crystal in others. Although this farmhouse is brand new, vintage details such as these give it an “old-soul” of its own.
