5" Solid Brass Rim Lock Key With Fancy Notched Bit

This oversized brass skeleton key is the type used with Carpenter rim locks in the Colonial and Federal periods. Made of heavy cast brass, it's wonderfully ornamental, as well as potentially functional (operability can only be determined by testing).

Overall length: 5". Barrel length (from bow to bit): 3". Barrel diameter: 5/16". Bit is 5/8" W x 11/16" H.

The bow is the ring part that you hold, the barrel is the tube in the center and the bit is the tooth like part on the end.
