So named because the two halves of the hinge meet when the door is closed, this is the type of hinge most modern doors will use. We have a beautiful selection, some that we manufacture ourselves to match the original antiques. We offer 9 classic finishes and a number of designs to choose from, including ball tipped, steeple tipped, Windsor and Russell & Erwin.

Also called spear or spade hinges, these classic, sturdy wrought iron strap hinges are a great way of showing off your antique or restored home. These hardy hinges are designed for heavy doors, interior or exterior and range in size from 9" to 20.5".

These lovely hinges are designed for the vintage doors of the pre-1930's era. One side of a half mortise hinge fits in a groove in the door frame (also called a mortise) while the other side of the hinge attaches to the door face. This application was commonly used with thin doors, and is an elegant way of displaying otherwise hidden ornate hardware.

Parliament hinges are designed for doors that need to swing 180° and needs to clear a projection such as the architrave (a decorative molding) around the door frame. Part of the hinge is cut away, and the screw holes are lined up along the edge. Our parliament hinges are solid lacquered brass and come in 3 sizes.
