     At House of Antique Hardware we believe that period homes were designed and built with a rare integrity. For those of us compelled to restore that integrity, we share a responsibility: to stay true to the original design. At House of Antique Hardware, there are no short cuts to reproducing the past. We have one of the largest selections of original and authentic reproduction hardware on the web, and sales staff dedicated to matching the most faithful restoration project.

Company History

          In 1999, company President Roy Prange founded House of Antique Hardware. With a reputation for quality products and qualified sales support, we have grown into one of the premier online retailers for both authentic antique and vintage reproduction hardware.

     In 2004, we moved to our present location, in Portland, Oregon’s historic Laurelhurst District. In late 2005, we re-launched our website with more information, resources and features designed to better serve the diverse needs of the renovation and restoration community. Our new website includes a finish reference guide, architectural history timeline and a hardware help resource.

     We’ve been featured in magazine articles and syndicated cable shows, including the New York Times, Redbook, and Bob Vila’s This Old House. We have contributed to various historical renovation and restoration projects for Federal, State, and local Municipalities as well as commercial and residential clients.

At House of Antique Hardware, we do more than just manufacture and sell hardware: we work hard to serve the renovation and restoration community by supporting non-profit educational and preservation organizations.      In addition to providing one of the largest selections of unique vintage reproduction hardware available online our sales staff is available to assist with you by providing the following services:

1. Sourcing of antique or vintage-style product from dealers and retailers around the country to match existing patterns or meet certain project requirements.
2. Hardware restoration services, such as cleaning, replacing broken parts, making new lock springs and plating.
3. Custom manufacturing of replica hardware such as mortise locks, escutcheons, and door knobs.
4. General product and architectural style knowledge, even a little encouragement.
