Cast iron latch with brass button. The latch measures 1 1/2" tall by 2" in length and the catch measures 1 1/2" tall and adds an additional 1 1/8" in length.
These latches are spring loaded, so when you pull back the knob, the latch tongue is retracted allowing the door to be opened. When the knob is released it springs back to latch. Learn about hardware >
