Reading Hardware designed this exquisite Windsor pattern door bell around 1885. One of the few lever-style bells being made today, it produces a resounding "Clang!" (in large Victorian homes a loud bell that could be heard by servants at the back of the house was essential). The intricate and whimsical pattern is recreated via a lost wax casting and hand-finished for authentic character.
The bell measures 4 1/2" in diameter, with the screw tabs projecting 1/2" at the top and bottom. The exterior lever plate measures 5 1/4" tall x 1 7/8" wide. This door bell will fit doors measuring between 1 1/2" and 2 1/8" in thickness.
The bell mounts on the inside of the door and the lever is mounted on the outside. The bell sounds once when the lever is pulled down. Learn about hardware >
