Question: How are the shutter dogs mounted?


Answer: There are three types of Shutter Dogs- Post Mount, Lag Mount, or Window Sill Mount. Post Mounts (like our Cast Iron Scroll Tiebacks R-09JW-204) are attached using multiple wood screws and are appropriate for wood or siding. Lag Mounts (like our Iron Flower Shutter Lag Tiebacks R-09JW-252) are attached with a single large post and are appropriate on plaster or mortar. Sill Mount (like the Star Design Sill Mount Shutter Dogs R-09JP-38-LA) are attached to the window sill using wood screws and then extend out from the sill to the shutter area.
